Plant for the Future

A long-term asset, growing from your land.

We help British farmers and landowners plant, maintain and harvest cricket bat willow on low-lying, wet and often under-utilised land — for a financially robust, flood-resilient future.

Trees reach prime in just 15–20 years. England's temperate climate, well-suited soils and centuries of breeding heritage mean English cricket bat willow remains the benchmark for quality — sought after by the world's finest bat-makers.

Tax-Free Returns

As commercial forestry, returns are exempt from income tax, corporation tax, capital gains and inheritance tax. A minimum £800 per mature tree — equating to £80,000 per hectare, tax-free.

Environmental Impact

Carbon sequestration, biodiversity gains, riverbank stabilisation and flood mitigation — productive land that gives back to the landscape.

Land Diversification

Put under-used, low-lying or wet ground to work. Trees can be grazed beneath with sheep after seven years, and may be included in certain SFI schemes — without being classed as woodland.

Growing Market

Demand and value have risen sharply, driven by new major leagues around the world. The cricket market continues to flourish — and English willow leads it.

Generational Returns

£80,000 per hectare.

Tax-free.

Based on a minimum £800 per mature tree with 12–15ft of clear stem. Free of income tax, corporation tax, capital gains and inheritance tax as commercial forestry.

Is Your Land Suitable?

Heavy, wet, often overlooked.

The best ground for cricket bat willow is often the land that's hardest to use for anything else. If you have low-lying or wet ground — or simply an under-utilised corner — it's worth a conversation.

  • Low-lying, heavy soilsPastures, wetlands, riverbanks, streams and areas with a high water table.

  • No minimum sizeFrom a handful of trees to dozens of hectares — no area is too big or too small.

  • Compatible with grazingTrees planted 10m apart (100 per hectare / 40 per acre). Sheep can graze beneath after seven years.

  • SFI-eligible, not woodlandCan be included in certain SFI schemes — and not classed as woodland, keeping wider options open.

  • Stacks with wider schemesTalk to us about integrating bat willow into broader environmental schemes to stack financial returns.

How It Works

Planted, maintained, bought back.

  1. 01

    Land Assessment

We visit to evaluate soil, drainage and aspect — and confirm the right approach for your site.

  2. 02

    Sets Planted

We plant 16ft unrooted sets, cultivated by hand in an organic and sustainable environment.

  3. 03

    Free Maintenance

Ongoing care with no hidden deductions — ensuring healthy, sustainable growth and maximum return. No one else in the industry offers this.

  4. 04

    Guaranteed Buy-Back

In 15–20 years we buy the mature trees back — and plant free replacements, so the same ground keeps producing.
